My map is black?

Ye but, there must be a fix for it, I can't just use fullbright all the time it would look ugly :C

As @ERIK said, you should add a source of light. Let me explain a bit further:

When You first create your map, it's like starting a new universe, total darkness.

So you need to add sources of light (i.e. a Sun, a lamp, depending on your map) to light up your "universe" ^-^.

Search around as each light has different intensity, color, radius, etc. Well I learned this the hard way using after effects lighting on 3D layers :P

Right click on the grid > light > have fun with it :P

with N you can change its intensity and more stuff and pressing K you will be able to change color too

if you want ti see how it will look ingame go in the toolbar and search for "toggle preview at max intensity"
